Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Best way to get to Manuel Antonio from Montezuma is by speed boat, so we took the boat and arrived in Jaco about 1.5 hours later. Than another 2 hour shuttle from Jaco to Quepos, which is about 10 minutes to Manuel Antonio.

Quepos reminded me of a mini San Jose.. meh.

On the other side of the hill was Manuel Antonio- gorgeous. Full of little tucked away bars and restaurants and quaint hotels. LOVED our hostel, Hotel Plinio- highly recommend this place for backpackers. We got upgraded to a 3 story suite that had a sitting room, HOT showers, and a 3rd story balcony with swings. Score :)

That night we went to a local bar down the street, it was pretty much all expats - most of whom were from the states. Met some very cool people.

Thursday we spent the morning and afternoon at the national park in Manuel Antonio. Saw TONS of monkeys. They're very territorial, don't mess with them.

That night we had dinner at Emillios- by far the BEST meal I've had in Costa Rica so far. I had the seabass with a coconut curry sauce & Jasmine had the ahi tuna. Dinner was followed by chocolate covered macaroons. Delicious.

We walked down the street to El Avion, which was a bar made out of an old C-123 plane. This was an old American cargo plane that was shot down in Nicaragua in the 80s. Very cool inside.

Tomorrow we are heading out to Uvita & Dominical.
